Beighton 〔G.M. Miller, ''BBC Pronouncing Dictionary of British Names'' (Oxford UP, 1971), p. 13.〕 is a village and civil parish in the Broadland district of Norfolk, England, about two miles (3 km) south of Acle. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 412. The name is first recorded as ''Begetuna'' in 1086 and is from Old English 'farmstead of a woman called Beage or of a man called Baega.'〔A.D.
